ACTIVITIES

Our September picnic took place at Mead Botanical Garden (Winter Park), as  announced in our previous newsletter, but with a big surprise: the small open pavilion where our participants have been meeting for years has disappeared.

Recently, the president of our association met with the Executive Director of the park, who told him that a new pavilion will be built in the coming months, in the same location.

In any case, our next picnic/pétanque will take place at Mead Botanical Garden, on Sunday, October 8, starting at 12:30 pm, with a potluck lunch, followed by pétanque (French ball game) matches or various activities for kids.

Instead of the pavilion roof, participants will be sheltered by canopies.

As far as the French school is concerned, in our September newsletter we listed classes for kids 3 to 14 years old.

In addition, we have restarted the Saturday activities, once or twice per month.

For more details about these various programs, please consult Delphine, AFGO School Administrator, at thecours2francais@gmail.com.

The weekly lectures of “Discover France and Its Culture” continue in October, with season 28 dedicated to the Northwest region of France. For details, please contact Muriel at murieldebevere@yahoo.fr.

Our next adults movie night will be on October 21, starting at 6:30 pm, in the AFGO office, with a potluck dinner, followed by the projection of a French movie subtitled in English.

AFGO ANNUAL MEETING

The Annual Meeting of our association will take place on Saturday, October 21, starting at 4:00 pm. It is open to all AFGO registered members as of June 30, 2023. An email with all the details was sent out and it is posted on our website.
