Dear Friends of the Alliance Française,

February was a fantastic month at AFGO! We had a wonderful Soirée Crêpes on February 8th, filled with delicious treats and great company. A big thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special thank you to our partner for their generous donation.

We also launched our first Cultural Talks, an exciting new series that we’re thrilled to continue.

Now, as we step into March, the Month of Francophonie, we invite you to celebrate with us through our regular events! Join us for our monthly picnic, movie night, and our Cultural Talks, where we come together to share and enjoy French language and culture.

Discover France and its Cutlure, Season 39

We are excited to kick off Season 39 of our Conferences, taking you on a fascinating journey through Ardèche and the historic province of Vivarais. Join us for engaging presentations exploring the region’s rich heritage, notable figures, and cultural treasures.

Schedule & Details:

When: Fridays (in English) & Saturdays (in French) at 6:00 PM
Duration: Each conference lasts 1hour and 30min

Upcoming Sessions:

February 28 & March 1 – A tour of the town of Annonay
March 21 & 22 – A general presentation of Ardèche and the ancient province of Vivarais
March 28 & 29 – The incredible life and inventions of the Montgolfier brothers
April 4 & 5 – Discover the extraordinary journey of Charles de Foucauld, an adventurer, explorer, and scholar who became a saint
April 11 & 12 – A deep dive into the beauty, traditions, and cuisine of Ardèche

Cultural Talks: A Journey in Professional Golf

Join Us for an Inspiring Evening in English with Perrine Delacour – Professional Golfer and French Olympian (Tokyo 2020 & Paris 2024)

We are thrilled to host professional golfer and French Olympian Perrine Delacour for an exciting evening where she will share her journey into professional golf, from her early passion for the sport to competing at the highest level. The presentation will be held in English.

Location: Alliance Française of Greater Orlando
Pricing: Free for members | $5 for general admission

Pique-Nique / Pétanque

Kick off Daylight Saving Time by joining us for a potluck lunch picnic followed by a friendly game of pétanque! Bring your favorite dish to share and enjoy a fun afternoon with friends and family in the beautiful setting of Mead Botanical Garden.

Everyone is welcome to join and participate.

Movie Night / Ciné Club

Join us for an evening at AFGO’s office with a potluck dinner, followed by the screening of a French movie with English subtitles.

After the movie, we will have a short discussion to share thoughts and insights.

Time: 6:00 PM
Location: AFGO Office.
