Dear Members and Friends,
We’ve had a wonderful month this May, filled with joyful moments and memorable gatherings! One of the highlights was our delightful graduation pique-nique, where we celebrated our amazing students and their accomplishments.
We also had the pleasure of hosting a fascinating cultural talk in collaboration with the Central Florida Astronomical Society.
As summer begins, our cultural talks will take a short break, but not to worry, we’re already working on an exciting lineup for the fall season. In the meantime, our monthly picnic and movie night will continue as usual.
We wish you all a happy and relaxing summer! Please note that we remain open throughout the season, with classes ongoing both online and in person. We’re also thrilled to welcome our little campers to our French Summer Camp, some weeks are already full, but we still have spots available, so don’t hesitate to sign up!

AFGO Family Dinner – A Beautiful Evening of Connection and Appreciation

As our language school continues to grow and welcome new team members, we felt it was the perfect moment to gather and celebrate the spirit of community that defines AFGO.
Our recent AFGO Family Dinner brought together teachers, staff, and board members for an evening of meaningful connection and shared joy.
The atmosphere was warm and festive, thanks in part to the delicious paella cooked on-site by Qué Paella and the delightful French tarts from J’adore the French Bakery.
This celebration also coincided with Teacher Appreciation Day, giving us a chance to say thank you to our dedicated teachers whose passion and commitment make AFGO so special.
A heartfelt thank you to our President, Sylvain Perret, and School Director, Delphine François, for organizing such a memorable evening.
Here’s to community, culture, and the people who bring it all to life!

May’s Cultural Talks

We had the pleasure of welcoming the Central Florida Astronomical Society for a captivating evening exploring the wonders of the universe and the rich history of French–American collaboration in astronomy.
Our guest speaker, Derek Demeter, CFAS Observing Chair and Director of the Emil Buehler Planetarium at Seminole State College gave an enthusiastic and accessible presentation, guiding us through the important contributions of French scientists, observatories, and space missions in partnership with NASA and other U.S. institutions.
The evening didn’t end there, guests were then invited just across the street for a live stargazing session, where CFAS volunteers had set up telescopes for all to observe planets and constellations in the night sky. It was a beautiful way to connect science and culture in a shared moment of wonder.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Derek and the CFAS team for making this night so special.

Pique-Nique/Pétanque & Graduation Celebration

It was a joyful afternoon filled with laughter, delicious food, and heartfelt moments as we recognized the hard work and achievements of our learners of all ages and levels.
While adults enjoyed warm conversations and friendly games of pétanque, the kids had a blast with painting and water activities planned especially for them. The day was full of fun, connection, and celebration!
