August marks the return of routines, new beginnings, and exciting opportunities to reconnect with the French language and culture. As summer comes to a close, we’re thrilled to welcome everyone back for another season of learning, friendship, and unforgettable experiences at the Alliance Française of Greater Orlando.
This month, we’re kicking off our Fall 2026 class registration with programs for children, teens, and adults, and inviting you to discover everything AFGO has to offer at our Open House. We’ll also gather for our beloved Pique-nique & Pétanque, enjoy our 3rd Annual French-Guided Tour of the Florida Prize at the Orlando Museum of Art, laugh together at our monthly Movie Night, and end the month by making new connections at Mingle at the Alliance.
We’re also looking back on an incredible evening celebrating the arrival of Antoine Griezmann in Orlando. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create such an unforgettable celebration of our French community.
Whether you’re returning to class, attending your very first AFGO event, or simply looking for new ways to connect with French culture, we’re delighted to have you with us.

AUGUST 09 – Pique-nique/Pétanque
Join us for our monthly Pique-nique Pétanque on Sunday, August 09 2026, at 12:30 PM at Mead Botanical Garden in Winter Park.
Gather with friends, family, and members of the AFGO community for a relaxed afternoon of good food, friendly conversation, and pétanque. Bring a dish to share for our potluck picnic and enjoy a fun day outdoors in one of Winter Park’s most beautiful settings.
AUGUST 20 – French-Guided Tour at the Florida Prize
Save the Date – French-Guided Tour at the Florida Prize
Join the Alliance Française of Greater Orlando for our 3rd Annual French-Guided Tour of the Florida Prize in Contemporary Art at the Orlando Museum of Art on Thursday, August 20 at 5:00 PM.
This year’s tour coincides with the exhibition’s closing celebration, featuring a special live performance at 6:00 PM. Museum admission is free during the event, while the French-guided tour is $10 per person.

AUGUST 22 – Open House
Thinking about learning French? Join us on Saturday, August 22, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for the Alliance Française of Greater Orlando Open House!
Meet our dedicated team of teachers, participate in fun mini French discovery activities, get all your questions answered, and find the perfect program for you or your child. Explore our language classes for children, teens, and adults, tour our classrooms, and discover the many benefits of joining our vibrant French-speaking community.
Anyone who registers for a class during the Open House will receive 10% off tuition.
AUGUST 22 – Movie Night
Mark your calendars for our next Monthly Movie Night on Saturday, August 22, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM at the Alliance Française of Greater Orlando.
Join us for a special screening of Tais-toi! (Shut Up), the classic French comedy starring Gérard Depardieu and Jean Reno. As always, bring a dish to share for our friendly potluck dinner and enjoy an evening of French-language cinema, laughter, and great company.
AUGUST 29 – Mingle At The Alliance
Join us for an evening of meaningful conversations in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re looking to make new friends, practice your French, or meet someone special, this event is designed to help you connect naturally.
Your ticket includes two complimentary drinks, snacks, guided speed-mingling rotations, conversation prompts, and free mingling after the rotations.
Open to everyone—French speaking or not. Participants will select their preferred age range during registration.

What an amazing evening!
On July 25, we were proud to partner with FABCO to bring the French community together and give Antoine Griezmann a warm welcome to Orlando. More than 150 passionate supporters came together, filling the stands with chants, flags, and incredible energy from start to finish.
From welcoming everyone at our Fan Zone, to Antoine’s arrival at Inter&Co Stadium, to the unforgettable opportunity for members of our community to carry the center flag before kickoff, every moment was filled with excitement and pride.
The perfect ending? An Orlando City 1–0 victory! The electric atmosphere made an already special evening even more memorable.
A heartfelt thank you to FABCO, Orlando City SC, and everyone who joined us to make this event such a success. Together, we created an unforgettable atmosphere and showed what happens when our French community comes together. Your chants, energy, French flair, and passion turned the stands into a celebration we’ll never forget.
Here’s to many more moments celebrating French culture, friendship, and football together.
