Join us this summer for another evening of French cinema, food, and fun community moments as we present La Dilettante, a clever and unconventional comedy with English subtitles.
About the Movie
Starring the incomparable Ariane Ascaride, La Dilettante tells the story of Pierrette, a fiercely independent woman in her 50s who suddenly returns to Paris after years abroad in Switzerland. With no clear plan but plenty of charm and attitude, she dives back into French life on her own terms — unsettling her uptight son, reconnecting with old acquaintances, and navigating life’s absurdities with wit and boldness.
This delightful satire explores themes of identity, freedom, and the societal expectations placed on women of a certain age — all with a sharp sense of humor and heart.
