ACTIVITIES

Earlier, but bigger! Our May monthly picnic will take place on Sunday, May 7, at Mead Botanical Garden (Winter Park). It will start at 12:30 pm with a potluck lunch. Besides the usual “pétanque”, French ball game for adults in the afternoon, this picnic will also include a special theme for children, as we did last December. Kids and parents are cordially invited to attend this event by joining us for a Splish Splash party. Have your child ready to dive into fun water activities. Please bring a towel and your appetite, plus be prepared to get wet.

AFGO French language school is expanding (new classes and special programs), for both adults and children. On May 11, a new class for adults will start, in the morning. At the end of April, we successfully launched a monthly movie night for children and their parents. These movie nights for children and their parents should not be confused with the movie nights for adults: different dates and time, different movies of course.

We thank the two family members who gave us a substantial collection of books for children and adults.

For more details about our school and its programs, please consult Delphine, our School Administrator, at: thecours2francais@gmail.com.

The lectures of “Discover France and its Culture” continue. Season 24 dedicated to the Gironde (Bordeaux) region will end at the beginning of May and will be followed by season 25, beginning on Friday May 12 in English and on Saturday May 13 in French, animated, as usual, by Muriel. This new season will be focusing on Lyon (including its famous cuisine) and the Rhône-Alpes region.

Finally, we are pleased to announce that our monthly movie night for adults will take place on Saturday, May 27, with a potluck dinner, followed by the projection of a French movie subtitled in English. Around mid-May, you will receive an email with more details about this event.
