A huge thank you to the Orlando Museum of Art, Coralie Claeysen-Gleyzon, and their incredible team for giving us the opportunity to experience art en français with our community!

We were thrilled to have Marybeth Brown and Coralie Claeysen-Gleyzon as our guides for this special evening. Together, we explored the extraordinary works featured in the Florida Prize in Contemporary Art and attended the Florida Prize People’s Choice Award Ceremony.

Bravo to all the talented artists showcased this year—their work is truly inspiring! Special congratulations to the People’s Choice Award winner, Kandy G. Lopez, whose work is absolutely stunning.

Nights like this remind us why art and language make such a perfect pair. Merci to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable cultural experience!

Our August Cultural Talk marked the joyful return of these beloved gatherings, bringing together about 30 participants for an inspiring and engaging evening.

Our guest speaker, originally from Bordeaux and a graduate of Polytechnique and HEC, shared his fascinating journey into the world of drone shows. He began by showing videos of his early projects, intimate indoor performances with dancers and musicians, before illustrating the impressive evolution toward grand outdoor spectacles, where hundreds of drones create breathtaking figures in the sky.

He also discussed the safety challenges in this emerging industry, noting the lack of international regulations, and highlighted the creation of new professions that combine art and technology. Participants learned about the growing demand for drone shows, from major events to small towns dreaming of their own Bastille Day displays, and how the future may lie in innovative software solutions offering ready-made show programs.

A huge thank you to Caroline for inviting Laurent and for her incredible commitment to making this event happen. We’re also grateful to Olivier, who led the interview with such skill and charm.

Evenings like this allow the Alliance to showcase the richness, talent, and dynamism of our community. We are truly fortunate to have so many gifted individuals around us, and we can’t wait for the next Cultural Talk!
